omg lol cats wtf?

So, instead of actually reading my email and communicating with my friends and behaving like a normal well adjusted human being I've been spending the past few evenings hacking. What's unusual is that I managed to get my little project to the point of actually being usable and useful. Who would have thought?

The LOL Cats meme is hilarious yet lame, so I made a script to auto-generate them: http://lol.ianloic.com/

It centers around turning feeds into pages of cat images. I was initially motivated by twitter but it works pretty well for most kinds of feeds.

People had suggested some kind of keyword-to-cat mappings but really - any bizarre phrase will map to any bizarre feline facial expression.

Folks have encouraged me to attempt to match up the right cat with the right words, but I really don't think it's necessary. You can read just about anything into a cat's face.
